Hogsback Christmas in July
every year the residents of hogsback choose to celebrate Christmas in July because it is winter time in July in South Africa. This allows one to cook traditional meals without suffering through the heat of South African summer. It’s a cute idea with every tourist ploy in the book pulled out of the hat to try and trick your money out of you. I wish we could just have a few guests for a braai without having twenty parasites bother our friends for their pocket money trying to sell them all manner of rubbish. It is colder than some towns I guess but the hoped for snowfall seldom arrives. It’s a bit of a racket but my friend where I rent is a decent fellow Nd if tou want to come Nd stay and see our craftsmanship you’re welcome to look for the contact page on this site and have a chat about it. I love where I live. No one to bother us, a lovely stream and mountain. It is so peaceful. No pressure but if tou do get hoodwinked into the mid year Christmas ploy maybe come and hide out where we do…where the authenticity is at 48ain road.
